At first you were noncommittal, but as the media seemed to grow more and more biased in favor of Obama, you couldn't help but root for the underdog. Telling her to drop out over and over again was the tipping point. You sent her your first check of this election after her win in Pennsylvania and you were practically giddy that so many other people did the same.
What is it about her that you like so much? She's a hard worker. She isn't cool. She's the real life version of Tracy Flick, overachiever and brownnoser whom you may think is obnoxious, but you have to admit gets the job done. She's wanted this for god knows how long, unlike her opponent who seemed to magically appear on the scene four years ago riding in on the democrats defeat with one good speech.
So he speaks well. Like a preacher, you'd say. She's no George Bush. She speaks in practicalities. Why is that a bad thing? The older you get the more sanctimonious you find idealism. Change. Change. Change. It reminds you of that song from My Fair Lady. Tell me no dreams filled with desire. If you're on fire, show me!!
She probably won't win. You hate to be a defeatist, but how long can she keep coming back. Maybe Obama will win the general election (even though she's carried all the states the democrats really need). Maybe he'll be a good president. If nothing else it allows you to feel outraged, which is always a little bit fun.

shhh...don't tell anyone...but Steve and I both are rooting for Hillary. In fact, we both voted for her here in Ohio. It's our dirty little secret. :o)
Why is rooting for Hillary a dirty little secret? I have been rooting for her all along...loudly and proudly. Obama seems like a snake charmer to me. At least with Hillary what you see is what you get. And I much prefer people like that.
I kind of understand where Catherine is coming from. The media is sooooo biased toward Obama it almost feels like I'm being traitorous to support her. But then I remember that this is the same media that let George Bush get away with all his crap for the past 8 years!
