Today was a quiet day. You spent the morning trying to think of something exciting to do and the more you thought, the more the day slipped away from you edging into the afternoon. Your husband mowed the lawn and you and your son watched him from the driveway, your son smiling with his hands over his ears saying, "It make loud noise, Moomy."
Later, after errands, you stopped at a local ice cream shop and got your son a vanilla cone, which he ate literally at one lick at a time. You watched him enjoy eating his ice cream, not rushing, just enjoying each and every lick and wiping his mouth with his arm (before you could catch him with a napkin) and it made you laugh. You are always off somewhere in the future, but your kid still lives so sweetly in the present.
Try this at home:
How do you eat your ice cream?

Hey, even here in Paris it's free ice cream day for Ben & Jerry's and we scored three free (though small) containers.
