How to be Spontaneous

When the opportunity presents itself to spend a day at a theme park when you were otherwise planning to exercise and take your kid to the indoor pool (that always feels soggy and claustrophobic when you're trying to get you and your child dressed), TAKE IT! Even if it means you have to interrupt your husband's shower to ask him to move the car seat to the backity back and you have to run madly around the house for 10 minutes trying to grab everything you need, change your kid, feed him and take the dog out to poop. Even if you GASP have to miss your morning coffee!

What an adventure, hanging with some fun women and their sweet kids with the sun out. Eating ice cream and drinking diet coke and slathering on sun screen and watching the kiddos get wet!

On the way home you were super tired, watching Finding Nemo from the back seat with your kid guzzling goldfish and laughing hysterically when he should have been passed out asleep. Those are your favorite kinds of days--when you're so happy tired at the end that you can't wait to crawl into bed, watch a movie and drift off to dreamland.

Try this at home:
What was the last spontaneous thing you did?
